I Want My Crumpet
Well, it really is a very nice summer we have been enjoying so far, hasn't it? Sure, it's not exactly bikini-on-the-streets weather, but it's mainly been mild and dry and those light summer evenings really bring a smile to my face. Anyway, as part of root's Summer 2008 extravaganza, I have recently become very fond of Warburton's Crumpets. Step forward several days to yesterday evening. I'm doing my shopping, listening away to ASDA FM (tune of the moment last night was What A Fool Believes by The Doobie Brothers), and I get to the bakery isle all ready to get my tasty bit of crumpet. What do I find?
Now, about 10 days ago I went to my Isle Of Dog's ASDA store and they had many different varieties of crumpet. However, it was the Warburton ones which tickled my fancy as they are just great toasted with a slice of cheese on top. Anyway, ASDA had *lots* of them in stock and I have to admit to being quite surprised as to the popularity of British crumpet. I was really glad to see others enjoying them as much as me.

Very disappointing I am sure you can imagine. I was most upset.
I will update this posting when the crumpets are back in stock. In the meantime, if anyone from ASDA reads this, please bring back the crumpets!
